TOPIC: PRAYER

TEXT: MATTEW 17: 21

Brethren, I bring greetings to you from our wonderful Church Family. Our topic this week is PRAYER

Let me tell you brethren, we’ve enough potential to exert a great influence on our lives, our families, our environment and our community through prayer. We can only achieve little in life if we do not pray. The import of this edition is to challenging your prayer life

Prayer is communing with God on issues of life. It is usually a two-way communication process between the believer and God.

In the words of James the Apostle, the earnest (heart-felt, continued) prayer of a righteous person makes tremendous power available (dynamic in its working). Do you know that a great amount of power - spiritual energy - is on the inside of you? The born again believer is like an undetonated dynamite with the ability to explode upon detonation. Prayer releases this power! The power thus released is dynamic in its working; and therefore has the potential to influence anything contrary to our lives, welfare and destiny. The power of prayer can change rules, decrees and laws. Sickness and diseases will bow to the power of a heart-felt prayer. Demons flee at the command of prayer. The type of prayer in question is that which is result oriented, and not a religious form with no power. Jabez changed his destiny through prayer (I Chronicles 4:9-10). Hezekiah, by prayer, moved God to obstruct earth’s rotation for 15 minutes (2 Kings 20:9-11). Daniel’s prayer stopped the lion’s aggression (Daniel 6:11-27). Hallelujah!

Are you being afflicted by the devil? Are you confused? Is your family at the verge of collapse? Is your business in a mess? I’ve got news for you! The solution is right there in your B-I-B-L-E. Take a look at James chapter 5 verse 13. It reads "Is any afflicted? Let him pray." Yes, prayer is the key! The place of prayer is your most powerful position. That’s where the solution is. It is now up to you whether to take your stand and pray, or watch the devil invade and devastate your preserves. I strongly recommend that Christians should pray always; a prayer less Christian is a powerless Christian. God bless you all and have a wonderful week.
